passing notes back and forth in the 8th grade. Usually these notes were simply silly but sometimes a boy and a girl would pass love notes this way. The note was put into the pocket pasted inside and all the teacher thought was going on was the return to of a library book to the person who it temporarily belonged. Passing notes in library books was especially done in English class. I suppose this was because our teacher went wild on a daily basis and sometimes didn't show up at all. The boys in my class drove her wild with various goof ball antics that proved they/we were not paying attention. I think we made our way through about 3 chapters of the book the entire year. I didn't like English classes.
It was READING that made me want to be a writer myself.
